ESG Launches 2nd Generation Processing Capabilities

ESG is pleased to announce the launch of its 2nd generation microseismic processing capabilities. Pioneered by ESG’s geophysical data processing and software development team, these advanced analytical techniques are applied to seismic interpretation and imaging of hydraulic fracture stimulations and microseismic monitoring of reservoir operations such as EOR or thermal recovery. Most microseismic mapping services of hydraulic fractures are typically limited to providing event locations and delineating the dimensions of the fracture (orientation, height, width). At ESG we firmly believe that this level of analysis misses significant information that could be used to improve understanding of the fracture characteristics and refine future development operations. Through our experience in hydraulic fracture imaging and commercial application of microseismics we have developed an unparalleled suite of advanced analytical and processing techniques that allow us to delve much deeper into the characteristics of these microseismic events and ensure the operators and engineers are getting the full value from the data collected. The 2nd generation processing capabilities allow clients to better understand local changes in fracture conditions and learn how these factors are contributing to the effectiveness of the fracture or EOR stimulation. These techniques represent the ‘next generation’ of analysis that we are delivering to customers as we process microseismic data acquired from hydraulic fracture stimulations and longer-term reservoir monitoring systems.
