ESG is currently recruiting one enthusiastic individual to join an expanding team on a permanent, full-time basis.  

Job Description

The successful applicant will join ESG’s Mining and Geotechnical Services Department. Reporting to the Manager of Mining and Geotechnical Services, the Field Engineer will:

• Travel to remote locations to install and maintain our microseismic monitoring systems
• Install hardware and software upgrades and troubleshoot system problems both remotely and at client sites
• Train industry personnel and clients on instrumentation usage, and provide technical support to clients
• Perform seismic data processing and interpretation of induced seismicity related to mining and geotechnical sites
• Prepare interpretive reports

Please note this position will require a considerable amount of domestic and international travel.

Qualifications and Experience

• B.Sc. in Engineering is required at a minimum. 
• Preference will be given to candidates who possess a background in earthquake seismology, geophysical instrumentation or geotechnical/civil engineering
• Demonstrated ability to solve technical problems
• Familiarity and experience using AutoCAD
• Strong computer skills, including the ability to efficiently learn new computer software packages
• Computer hardware/electrical instrumentation proficiencies are an asset
• Fieldwork experience is an asset, particularly relevant to mining and geotechnical industries
• Able to travel both internationally and domestically
• Legally eligible to work in Canada
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must
• High level of motivation
